Top 11 Cute Animals That Can Kill You

There are many cute, cuddly animals on earth that appear like they would make the perfect pet. It will seem to you that they are the kindest and the most adorable animals you have ever seen. But if somehow provoked, these charming creatures can turn into evil in a matter of seconds. Here are 11 really cute animals that actually can kill you.

1. The Golden Dart Frog

The most toxic combination of cute and deadly comes in the form of the Golden Dart Frog.  This small, vibrantly colored amphibian, the Golden Dart frog, is among most poisonous animals on Earth. It lives in the warmer areas of South America. This frog with its bright colors and bright patterns looks like it could be a perfect pet for any curious kid. But these tiny works of art hold a sinister secret. These fatal frogs secrete toxin from their skin and their bright coloring is made to warn any potential predators of impending doom!

The most toxic of all frog species, the Golden Poison Frog, has enough poison to kill 10 - 20 adult people! Its poison, an alkaloid toxin called batrachotoxin, is so strong that just 1 gram is enough to kill 15,000 humans.

2. The Puffer Fish

Puffer fish are funny and cute just on general principle. It's hard to see one inflated, and refrain from uncontrollable smiling at its cartoonish defense mechanism. But puffer fish don't just rely on their inflatable belly as a way of warning predators, they are also full of deadly neurotoxin tetrodotoxin. Of course, they're known as a delicacy just for this reason. Apparently, when prepared on the right way, the minute traces of the poison give you tingly lips and lightheadedness. But if the cook doesn't prepare it in the right way, you risk a nasty death.

See, tetrodotoxin paralyzes muscles, with no known cure. So, if you eat too much, your muscles no longer move so as your diaphragm. Your body becomes paralyzed, you are unable to breathe and you lose consciousness.

3. The Blue-Ringed Octopus

Approximately the size of a golf ball, the curious Blue-ringed Octopus, tops the coral reef charts as both mesmerizing and colorfully cute. But this little ball of curiosity has enough poison to kill more than 10 people. This tiny creature is one of the most poisonous animals in the world. If stepped on or provoked, it will bite. Blue-ringed octopus poison is made from bacteria in the mouth of this animal. Unfortunately there is no known antivenom and the poison could kill an adult human within seconds.

Death occurs because of heart failure due to paralysis of the respiratory muscles. When bitten, victims must be sent to a hospital as quickly as possible as they will need artificial respiration in order to avoid death.

4. The Slow Loris

The Slow Loris is one of the absolutely cutest, sweet, and shy animals on earth. With their cute narrow set and bulbous eyes they are the kind of pet that people dream of taking home and cuddling it like a cat or a dog. But besides being one of the cutest creatures, it is also poisonous. This animal produces a toxin on the inside of its elbows through its gland, which if eaten, would give you really extreme case of stomach pain. They put this slime on their young, to help keep them from being eaten by predators.

They are also considered poisonous because if provoked, they can suck this same poison from their glands into their mouths, injecting it into an enemy with a bite. If the bitten predator shows an allergic reaction to the poison, they could be dead within hours if not properly treated.

5. The Gila Monster

Though this chunky, lumbering lizard may look cute, but beware of its danger! This lizard species is about as poisonous as a Western diamondback rattlesnake. They can bite quickly and their grooved teeth can bite deep into your skin. This creature uses its powerful jaws to inject poison into the open wound by chewing and lacerating the skin with a help of vice-like grip. Their bite can be really painful, and potentially fatal. If you are bitten, it's important to remove the animal as soon as you can.

One of the more practical ways to do this is to pry open the monster's mouth with a strong stick; but be sure to allow it a solid foothold on the ground while you are trying to get it off.

6. Chimpanzee

The chimpanzee has long been thought of as an ancestor of man. They are the only animals on the earth with such obvious similarities to humans. But it shouldn’t be too surprising that they also have the similar violent behavior, like people. They have been documented as having bloody fights with each other, caused by territorial or other differences. Countless “trained” chimpanzee pets have also been known to turn on their friends or owner causing them severe damage, like mangled hands (in some cases even torn off), broken bones, shredded faces, etc.

One huge difference between a chimpanzee and human is its skeletal muscle structure. This monkey has more than 5 times the strength of a human, leaving almost no hope of defending ourselves if one decides to attack.

7. The Platypus

The platypus is truly one of the weirdest animals on earth. With its thick fuzzy body, otter-like feet, flat beaver-like tail, duck-like bill, and cute, small eyes that say, “I will never hurt anyone”, it is considered to be a dangerous animal to human. There are two very unique characteristics of this animal, and the first is its duckbill. Besides having the most obvious use of scooping food, it also has electro-receptivity, similar to the Hammerhead shark, allowing it to find foods buried within the silt. The second unique attribute is a pair 20 mm long hollow spurs placed along the inside of its rear legs.

Inside these spurs is a moderate poison, which can be quickly delivered to a predator (or their own kind) with a fleeing kick. The venom causes death to small animals, and while not typically fatal for people, can cause excruciating pain that lasts for weeks, if not months.

 8. The Polar Bears

Polar bears are intelligent and very curious by nature. They are not shy and have been known to get close to investigate scientist ships and vehicles. The beautiful polar bear has appeared in everything from television ads, cartoons and movies, playing as soft, fuzzy, gentle creatures. While a Polar bear resting on an ice berg with its paws clutched around it like baby holding its teddy bear is truly sweet, that same animal slapping the head clean off an unwary human is a whole other rush of fear inducing adrenaline.

The Polar bears are the largest carnivores in North America weighing up to 1400 pound, and standing up about 10 feet on its hind legs. Approximately 90 people are attacked each year by the polar bear.

9. An Elephant

These animals are peaceful, kind, loving, and have even been documented to cry whenever their baby or a mate dies. But, of course, no animal or creature is perfect and there are times when an elephant can be really dangerous. The biggest problem is in their pure strength and size. Every creature can get a little grumpy. But if an elephant gets grumpy, it sweeps of its foot or joust of its tusk, and there is no back for whoever happens to be in its way. A few zoo trainers have died because of a seemingly “friendly” elephant.

They don't take too well their life in captivity, and it is said that the increased testosterone levels in males during mating season will cause overly aggressive and uncontrolled attacks for seemingly no reason.

10. Stingrays

They are generally completely fine with people. If disturbed, they'll usually just run for it but sometimes are happy to stay around and play. While shy by nature, they can get used to a human contact, and will let you play with them. Many zoos have touch tanks with rays in them, where you can touch them. The only problem is what might happen when you step on them. If you provoke them in almost any other way, they will just run away. For most people after it hits their leg, the stinger remains and the ray swims off like the lower half of a bee.

In addition to being impaled, the sting also injects a hefty dose of toxin, which leads to pain, cramps and swelling. Again, not something anybody would like to happen while being underwater. Sure, sometimes just in some cases it will be fatal.

11. Panda

Nothing’s cuddlier than a Panda. In fact, Chinese tourists spend a lot of money to give these giant bears a hug. This is because pandas have a reputation for being docile. Giant pandas have large molar teeth and strong jaw muscles for crushing tough bamboo. Many people think that these chunky, lumbering animals are sweet, but giant pandas can be as dangerous as any other bear. Don’t be fooled, because they aren’t too lazy to literally tear your limb of, if you make them angry.

These iconic black and white creatures have razor-sharp claws and teeth that can crunch down more than 2, 5 tons of pressure. They spend most of their days munching bamboo, but are officially classed as carnivores, and there have been many documented attacks on humans.
